Dr. Alissa Banns, DC

Chiropractor

Dr. Alissa Banns graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, British Columbia with a Bachelor in Kinesiology and then went on to obtain her Doctorate of Chiropractic which she received from Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California. While she was in California she was an active member of the Sports Council which allowed her to treat various types of athletes and many sports injuries. She was able to combine her love for travelling and her passion for helping people by volunteering through mission trips in El Salvador and Peru where she treated a wide range of conditions and injuries from the pediatric to the geriatric population.
Dr. Banns is in constant pursuit of knowledge and is continually taking courses to enhance her ability to address musculoskeletal disorders. She has had training in Functional Movement Taping (Rocktape), Active Release Technique (ART), Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab (FAKTR), extremity adjusting and exercise and rehabilitation. She strives to actively help patients achieve their sports, fitness and personal related goals. She believes that patients need to be active members of their own recovery and health.
When she is not in the clinic you can find her on a plane off to explore an exciting new destination or horseback riding. She looks forward to helping you move better and smile more!

Mat Haines

Physiotherapist

Mat graduated with a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy from Brunel University in London following the completion of his Athletic Therapy Advanced Certificate from Mount Royal University in Calgary and a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from UBC. He is passionate about guiding patients through individual-based rehabilitation exercises to promote a safe return to both activities of daily life and sport.

In addition to treating clients at the clinic, Mat is currently providing Physiotherapy services to the Vancouver Bandits CEBL Basketball team.

Jeff Slatten

Physiotherapist

Jeff is a highly skilled physiotherapist with a wealth of experience spanning over 15 years. He holds a Master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University.

Jeff is a certified Vestibular Therapist (Duke University School of Medicine), and has undergone specialized training in assessing and treating dizziness/vertigo, including conditions such as BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). To ensure the highest level of accuracy in his assessments and treatments, Jeff uses special infrared video goggles. These goggles are an essential tool that enables him to thoroughly evaluate and treat his patients.

Certified as a Gunn IMS Practitioner, Jeff is adept at using Intramuscular stimulation (also known as Dry Needling) to help his patients achieve optimal outcomes. He is also certified in Acupuncture from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute.

He has completed level 3 in Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy and is a proud member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Jeff takes great pleasure in helping athletes and non-athletes of all ages to recover from injuries and surgeries by restoring function, identifying and correcting muscle imbalances, and addressing postural issues and balance deficits.

Jeff believes that patient education is an integral part of the rehabilitation process. He takes the time to ensure that his patients have a clear understanding of their body and their condition, empowering them to stay healthy and prevent future injuries

For certain neck and back issues, he may use spinal decompression therapy, while Shockwave therapy has proven to be highly effective for a variety of conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tendinopathy, and shoulder pain.

Born and raised in British Columbia, Jeff loves spending time with his 10 year old son, and the rest of his family who live in the Lower Mainland. He enjoys keeping active through outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, swimming and cycling. In addition, Jeff has a passion for travel and loves experiencing different cultures and cuisines.

Lisa Goulet

Physiotherapist

Lisa has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education in Athletic Therapy with distinction from the University of Alberta. Included in her educational pursuits, Lisa acquired her Fellowship from the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy, is certified in Acupuncture from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and is certified in Functional Dry Needling (IMS) Level 1 with Kinetacore.
Lisa has also completed several post-graduate courses including Spinal Manipulation, Manual Therapy, Myofascial and Soft-tissue Release techniques, Graston Technique, K-Taping (Kinesiology tape technique), Orthopaedic courses for the Thorax , Shoulder and Core, Diagnosis and Treatment of Movement Impairment Syndromes, Mobilization of the Nervous System, and Pilates instruction. Her clinical interests include Movement/ Postural Dysfunction, Shoulder, Lumbo-Pelvic and Lower Limb /Pelvic Alignment Disorders, and exercise therapies such as yoga and Pilates. Lisa has worked with a variety of sport teams and athletic events and is an active member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and Orthopedic Division. She was also a member of the BC place medical team during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. She enjoys several recreational activities including Yoga, Pilates, biking and snowboarding.

Sam (Suhkjinder) Jaggi

Physiotherapist

Sam has joined our team with 11 years of experience in this field . He did his IEPEP program from UBC and after that he did his FDN (Functional Dry Needling) level 1 from KinetaCore. He has also done manual therapy courses on management of lumbo-sacral and cervico-thoracic disorders. He has also completed KLT level 1 course by Wayne Rogers, Australia. Ranked as the best physiotherapist in Chilliwack (threebestrated.ca) for 3 consecutive years Sam has developed his practice with an emphasis on patient education and restorative rehabilitation. His one-on-one style of treatment ensures that his clients receive the best possible care while visiting our office, and his after-care home programs allow his clients to continue their healing independently. He is also a level 1 CrossFit coach and loves to work out. In his free time Sam likes to go for a run, hike, or working out.

TJ Cheema

Born and raised in Merritt BC, TJ completed her Bachelors of Human Kinetics at UBCO in Kelowna BC before receiving her Masters of Physiotherapy in 2020 at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK.

She has experience working with all ages and populations including chronic pain and acute musculoskeletal injuries.

TJ has a keen interest in sports related injuries, using evidenced based practice, pain education and active rehabilitation. She offers services in both English and Punjabi. When she isn’t working, you can typically find TJ spending time with her family, playing a game of soccer or basketball or volunteering with youth sports.

Bryce Helser

Registered Massage Therapist

Bryce is a registered massage therapist who graduated from The West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2019. He grew up playing a multitude of differing athletics with a broad array of workout regimes to help him understand sports injuries and their rehabilitations.

His interest in human anatomy and want to help people drew him towards a career in massage therapy.
